A complete installation can include removing the old lawn, preparing and levelling the soil, supplying fresh turf, laying it and watering it in. We also explain how to look after the new lawn during the first few weeks.

No. We arrange turf as part of a complete installation and do not offer delivery-only turf for DIY laying.

Yes. We plan the lawn so it meets paths, decks and garden beds neatly. The height and direction of water around those surfaces need to be considered before the soil is prepared.

Starting again may make sense when most of the lawn is weeds, the same bare areas keep returning or the ground is badly uneven and compacted. We first look at why the lawn struggled so the same problem is not simply covered with new turf.

No. New turf needs close contact with prepared soil. Old grass, weeds, roots and uneven material should be dealt with first so the new lawn has a sound base.

A new lawn will not fix a major drainage problem by itself. Small low spots may be improved during preparation, but persistent pooling, stormwater changes or retaining work may need separate advice first.

The turf needs an even, workable layer of soil beneath it so the roots can settle in and moisture can reach the whole lawn. Hard ground, rubble and uneven areas can still cause problems if they are simply covered.

Often, yes. The slope needs to be stable and the soil must be prepared so the turf sits firmly. Larger level changes, unstable edges or retaining work may need to be resolved before turfing.

Keep foot traffic light while the turf can still move or lift. Normal use can gradually return once the roots begin holding the turf in place, with extra care around pets and busy paths.

Wait until the turf is holding firmly in the soil. Use sharp mower blades and avoid cutting off too much leaf at once. We will explain what to check before that first mow.

No. A rough length and width or your best estimate is enough for the first enquiry. The lawn can be measured properly before turf quantities are confirmed.

Old material may need to come out while soil and fresh turf need to come in. Narrow gates, stairs, tight turns and long distances from the street can add handling time.

Not at this stage. Two lawns of the same size can need very different removal, access and ground preparation, so we quote the work for the individual property.
